SUMMARY OF INFORMATION CONTAINED IN THE PRIVATE EYE SPECIAL REPORT ON THE MMR AND AUTISM DATED MAY 2002

   

1.Various reports referred to by the Government and the Medical Research Council as confirming the safety of the MMR are no more than rehashes of earlier work.

 

2. But over 80% of this work has been funded by the pharmaceutical companies.

 

3.A number of the medical researchers involved in reviews of recent research also list their connections to drug companies and/or to being involved in original drug safety committees.  Their later work would necessarily overturn their earlier conclusions if they were now to find evidence of harm in vaccinations.

 

 

4.It is not surprising therefore that the World Health Organisation is quoted as saying that the reliability of drug trials is being compromised, there are conflicts of interest, the analysis of results, the publication or not of findings etc. are all under suspicion.
5. Even The Lancet, the medical profession’s own journal asks ‘just how tainted by commercial conflicts has medicine become?’
 
6.Perhaps the MMR Research Trust’s work is the only reliable research work being done to establish the vaccine histories of all those affected by autism.  This work is paid for entirely by parents and families of autistic people and their supporters.
