Dear Maria and Stuart

Congratulations on getting the attention of the Prime Minister and the media. You have done so in a way that this research trust has failed to do in six years work even though we have a clear message. Vaccines do cause autism!

You are surely right that it is the Prime Minister’s duty to pursue the cause of autism particularly as it is very clear he has the means to do so. We believe that Ministers know the cause of autism but that they are unwilling to admit this knowledge because of the massive political fall out that would ensue.

We believe that it is incontrovertible that vaccines cause autism (and many other conditions) and that in the case of autism there is no other cause except exposure to vaccine materials. Britain is almost unique amongst western nations in that it has an extensive vaccination policy but it is neither compulsory nor mandatory. As a result there are upwards of two million unvaccinated people in the population. None of these is believed to be autistic! After six years very extensive research we have found only three unvaccinated autistic people each of whom was exposed to mercury in other ways.

In the USA mercury or Thimerosal as it is known there (in the UK Thiomersal) was a routine and widely used preservative compound in vaccines since the 1930’s. Since just before autism was first diagnosed by Kanner in 1943. It started to be withdrawn in that country from 1999, in Britain it was withdrawn overnight without explanation on 31 August 2004!

Autism amongst three year olds is now falling for the first time in 35 years in California (San Francisco newspapers). Since 1986 the US VAERS (vaccine adverse events reporting scheme) funded by an industry levy (DTP pays most) has paid out over one billion dollars

compensation for children injured by vaccines containing this material.

I have personally been convinced of the cause since November 2002 when I heard Professor Boyd Haley speak on the subject in Washington when he described the pathology of autism resulting from exposure to mercury. There are other factors, including probably testosterone and heavy metals but the crucial element seems to be exposure to mercury. Mercury is a slow acting highly toxic poison that crosses the blood brain barrier and the effects can be many months before they become apparent. There seems to be a strong likelihood that MMR attacks a vulnerability caused by DTP months earlier sometimes tipping children over the edge thus explaining the regressive form of autism sometimes seen. The involvement of testosterone (Boyd Haley, Simon Baron-Cohen and John Thomas Manning) would also go some way towards explaining the gender ratio of over four to one boys to girls commonly found.

Leading researchers and medics flatly refuse to reply to this contention , I have put it to hundreds in person and in writing and have broadcast etc. Only one politician out of dozens replied to me but privately top medics and researchers independent from the pharmaceutical industry have said they believe it to be a strong probability that demands research.

It is very disappointing to learn of your trials with the authorities to get John Paul seen and to get help. We had exactly that over thirty years ago. In fact our daughter Claire shares something with John Paul, Claire used to do ‘large piece’ type jigsaw puzzles behind her back when she was small.

I wish you good luck and I hope you will persist with Tony Blair it is a disgrace that true facts have been withheld from the half a million families of autistic people in this country for so long after they must have become obvious to those involved in health care. Autism exists only in the presence of vaccination!
